4K – Modern Era of High Resolution

As we have moved now from HD to 4K/Ultra HD, resolution has remained the important prospect for the improvement since last many years. Firstly HD(High Definition) comes in the series, which is generally available in budget TVs having a 1280×720 resolution or 720p resolution where p stands for progressive scan. Then comes Full HD, mostly seen in medium range TVs having the resolution of 1920×720 or 1080p with the aspect ratio 16:9. Then you might have guessed the next, that is 4K or UHD(Ultra HD) having 3840×2160 resolution which is two times of Full HD and three times of HD. The original resolution of 4K is 4096×2160. 4K is derived as 4000+ pixels on the longest side. Brands like Netflix and Google refer to UHD as 4K to better market their products.

One more is added in this series that is Ultra HD Premium whose significance is that it is the certified version of Ultra HD. This trusted certification is accoutred by the UHD Alliance group. There are many companies in which Disney, Netflix, Amazon, and many others are included in it and also top brands like Samsung, LG and Panasonic have their UHD Premium certified televisions. Sony has its different plan in which it uses its proprietary Triluminous technology in the LED display to get a realistic environment.

As 4K gives a realistic feeling TV of size 49 inch or bigger is suited for it, though it is also available in smaller sizes. As we know, 4K has not completely arrived till date so only limited content is available, so unless you watch a lot of UHD movies you won’t get a lot of 4K content in India.
